Modern Slavery Policy
Anti Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
Modern Slavery is a term which encompasses slavery, servitude and forced or compulsory labour. Human trafficking is defined as arranging or facilitating the travel of another person with a view to that person being exploited.
This statement is made on behalf of Roadmaster pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (the ‘Act’) and constitutes our slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31 December 2019.
 Our Business Structure and Activities
Roadmaster provides a comprehensive contract hire service for road repairs using our flagship product, the Roadmaster® Spray Injection Patcher, which incorporates the latest technology to allow a single operator to carry out road repairs from the safety of the chassis cab.
Roadmaster are designers and manufacturers of specialised state of the art road repair machinery. With the development, production and services of our Roadmaster® products range, the group are the market leaders in road repair and maintenance machinery and Spray Injection Patching technology. We are committed to our vision to shape the future of road maintenance with a continuous focus on our values. Across our group we have over 50 employees, 25% are seasonal employees, located in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.
Our Supply Chains
Our supply chains include training providers, aggregate and emulsion suppliers, IT services, conference and venue suppliers, and traffic management and road sweeping services within the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. We have reviewed the risks that these supply chains can present.
We expect our suppliers to demonstrate a zero-tolerance approach to exploitation. To this end we have inserted a clause into our contracts requiring that they comply with the provisions of the Act and granting us the right to terminate in the event of their failure to do so.
As part of our procurement process, we will only engage with suppliers and contractors who confirm their compliance with the Act. We will continue to keep our employees informed and raise awareness of how to recognise and respond to indicators of human rights abuses.
We have adapted our existing corporate policies to incorporate modern slavery and human trafficking issues, including our whistleblowing policy which allows employees to report any concerns confidentially.
Risk Assessment Conclusions
Our risks are deemed to be low since we operate and source supplies from countries with existing laws protecting human rights, and we have established relationships with the majority of our suppliers. Roadmaster directly employ all our staff so there is no risk posed by use of agency workers.
